Alice Lloyd: Stay On, Stranger.  Called "the stubbornest woman" in Kentucky, Alice Spencer Geddes Lloyd, the founder of what later became Alice Lloyd College, began her career as the editor of the first all-female newspaper staff in American before moving from Boston to the mountains of eastern Kentucky.  There she dedicated her life to the children and of Appalachia and bringing education to the mountains.  Join us for this powerful Kentucky Chautauqua presentation of Jacqueline Hamilton as Alice Lloyd. This program is funded in part by the Kentucky Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
